Wildlife enterprises are discussed followed by a case study highlighting farm level economic data from 3D Duck + Deer Destination owned by Mr. Lacy of Newport, Arkansas. Along with farming corn, soybeans and rice, Mr. Lacy leases land for waterfowl and deer hunting.

Learn the basics of establishing wildlife enterprises as recreational businesses. Such businesses benefit wildlife, forestry, and natural resources by providing landowners with income to reinvest in habitat and conservation practices. More broadly, these farm level decisions affect rural communities and income. Webinar topics include types of outdoor experiences for garnering income, and assisting landowners in deciding whether to invest their time, energies, and finances in an enterprise. Legal and liability issues are discussed briefly. An understanding of financial feasibility and marketing can contribute to success. A case study from 3D Duck + Deer Destination owned by Mr. Lacy of Newport, Arkansas offers insights about how financial factors play into wildlife enterprise decisions on the farm.
