Learn the basics of using the Feed Management practice standard to increase adoption, improve economic efficiency, and reduce manure nutrient content, thus reducing acreage needed for spreading manure.
The Feed Management (592) conservation practice standard was adopted nationally by NRCS in 2003. In 2007, a team of faculty from 11 Land Grant Universities received a NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant to develop national materials to support implementation of the standard. This webinar highlights the implementation materials, training of nutritionists as feed management planners, and the experience that Pennsylvania NRCS has had implementing 50 dairy feed management plans.
This webinar is sponsored by the USDA NRCS East National Technology Support Center.
