This course provides an overview on greenhouse gases along with the role agricultural and natural resource systems play in the overall global balance of greenhouse gases.
This course is designed for USDA NRCS employees, field personnel, and the general public. At the completion of this course, you will be able to explain the greenhouse effect and the general characteristics of sunlight and earth’s radiation balance. You will also determine how changes in greenhouse gas emissions can influence overall global climate change and identify methodologies in which the agricultural and natural resource systems can mitigate these effects. Finally, given a scenario, you will explain the importance of a holistic approach to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
This training is sponsored by the USDA NRCS National Air Quality and Atmospheric Change Team.
A quiz is implemented by this site so you can earn CEUs and a participation certificate. You can take the quiz as many times as needed to receive a passing score of 80%. This training is offered to USDA employees and those with eAuthentication accounts at USDA’s AgLearn training site. For those without an eAuthentication account (e.g., the general public), USDA has made this version available through ConservationWebinars.net.
