This webinar will provide participants with a working knowledge of the new Conservation Activity Plan 128 - Agricultural Energy Management Plan (AgEMP): how it builds on ASABE Standard 612; how it consolidates two prior versions of the AgEMP; and where it fits in the 9-step NRCS planning process.
Learn how NRCS has revised and simplified the Conservation Activity Plan (CAP) designed to evaluate on-farm energy use. For FY15, NRCS releases the CAP 128, Agricultural Energy Management Plan that consolidates the CAP 122, AgEMP - Headquarters and CAP 124, AgEMP - Landscape. This webinar will demonstrate how NRCS builds on the framework provided by the American Society of Biological and Agricultural Engineers Standard 612, Performing On-Farm Energy Audits to evaluate the 16 Major Activities that drive on-farm energy needs. Participants will learn about a revised approach to tillage and irrigation analysis as well as lighting, refrigeration, and other energy–using systems used to run agricultural enterprises throughout the United States. Also learn about the certification criteria for Technical Service Providers that will perform the new CAP 128.
This webinar is presented by the USDA NRCS East National Technology Support Center and the National Energy Technology Development Team located at the West National Technology Support Center.
