Participants will have an understanding of the elements included in a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP) and the process to follow when developing a CNMP as outlined in the USDA NRCS National Planning Procedures Handbook (NHHP).
A CNMP is to be developed when NRCS provides technical or financial assistance for an animal feeding operation (AFO) to address manure or wastewater handling and storage, treatment, and nutrient management that involves the application of manure and wastewater associated with the AFO. With approximately 250,000 AFOs across the country, this represents a tremendous potential workload. Developing quality CNMPs is essential to effectively address resource concerns associated with the AFOs. This presentation will look at each of the major sections of a CNMP and outline the necessary elements for developing a quality CNMP.
This webinar is presented by USDA NRCS Science and Technology.
