AgroClimate is an online tool that can help you understand observed and expected climate variability for development of potential on-farm adaptation strategies in the southeastern US; view this webinar to learn more.
Climate variability and change alters rainfall and temperature with varying risks to crops and livestock. As members of the Southeast Climate Consortium (SECC), a number of universities in the Southeast are helping producers and extension personnel to better understand climate variability by increasing relevant knowledge and collaborative efforts to develop mitigation strategies that can reduce potential impacts of climate variability in agriculture. AgroClimate is the main SECC information delivery mechanism that includes climate-related information and dynamic application tools that interact with a database system. This webinar will introduce the AgroClimate online tool and its main features, namely the County Yield Tool and Climate Risk Tool. The goal is for NRCS field staff to have a better understanding of climate variability and greater exposure to online tools and strategies to help farmers become more "climate resilient."
This webinar is sponsored by the USDA NRCS East National Technology Support Center.
